Founded in 1949, Electroputere Craiova is today one of the largest industrial companies in Romania. 65 years of activity established Electroputere as first rate manufacturer of locomotives: more than 2400 Diesel locomotives, 1050 Electric locomotives, urban vehicles and complex equipment units rolled out of its gates and were successfully employed by Romanian, Bulgarian, Chinese, Polish Railways.
The company was privatized in 2007 and since focused on become a global provider of power transformers and rotating electrical machines.
